Modems broken in Quirky-Retro 1.1

Thanks to Raman who tested 15 win-modems. These all work in Puppy 4.3.1, but only 2 work in Quirky-Retro 1.1.

Rerwin, who is our main guy for analog and 3G modem support in Puppy, has helped out, and found the reason.

Forum thread:

I applied the fix in Quirky-Retro 1.2rc. The files are currently uploading, estimated completion time 16 hours from now, however for the impatient, Quirky-Retro 1.2rc has completed uploading, find it here:

Samba broken in q112
Just tried qrky-112. Unfortunately both the Samba connection front ends do not work for me. lameSMBExplorer has always been unreliable(in other Puppys)for me and the same now in qrky-12. pNethood works fine in 412 and 431. In qrky-112 it has the same problem as lupu-512 in that (after I had installed on top to get finding servers/shares working) finds my Samba shares on my LANDisk but does not see any files with "show files" just an unnamed mounted (with a green dot) folder. Even to get to this point I had to apply the CIFs fix that Barry put in 431(documented in this blog last year) but does not appear to be in the the pet I got from the repository and hence seems to be missing in Woof I guess.

Re Samba
Did you test Quirky 1.1?

There was feedback in the Q1.1 thread about issues, which I addressed. I think some testers had Samba working in Q1.1.

I don't use Samba, never have, so I just apply whatever people tell me. If anyone can figure out what is wrong with Samba in Q1.2rc, please post the fix.

Q1.2rc delta files uploaded
Slowly getting there... the delta files have just finished uploading. Only the 'devx' file still uploading ... will complete in approx. 4.5 hours.
