Pandaboard, Beaglebard, Hawkboard

I received an email from a guy who is working on porting Puppy to a Pandaboard. Dougal also suggested the Pandaboard might be a good way to go.

But, just what is the Pandaboard, and what are these others, Beagleboard, Hawkboard?

In terms of performance, it would seem to be in order Hawkboard, Beagleboard, Pandaboard, with latter being fastest. The Pandaboard has a 1GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU, the Beagleboard-XM has a 1GHz single-core Cortex-A8 CPU.

CPU specs:

I have just noticed something on the Cortex-A8 page "binary compatibility with the ARM1176 family". That would be backwards compatibility.
Assume that also applies to the A9. That would mean I could compile code optimised for the RaspberryPi on a Pandaboard or beagleboard?

Arm v7 instruction
A series ARM V7 processors (es.: cortex A8 and A9) are supposed to contain the V6 core functionality (ARM11 is a ARM V6 processor).
But ARM V7 instruction are required by Flash 10.x and 11 to be officially supported (see android troubles with v6 processors).
If you plan to implement Flash plug-in I'd suggest to choose and arm cortex a8 board at least.

Sorry for my bad english.

Snapdragon A8
I love the puppies. I use a Snapdragon A8 machine from HP (HP Compaq Airlife 100) with Android 1.6. I would appreciate to get rid of the trap with old Android. I want to run a Puppy at the HP machine. But I cannot read the report from the Russian guy.

rasberry pi
arm ports of puppy are the way forward now that arm is becoming so cheap and available. i really hope raspberry pi gets off the ground without a hitch, without increasing the price. do we have a thread yet about puppy pi? there is certainly a lot of people waiting for the first units to ship. has there been any talks between the puppy/raspberry teams?
