By the way, I am currently running Precise Puppy 5.4.91, with 3.8-rc7 kernel and SeaMonkey 2.15.2. The kernel is configured without PAE support.

Are you thinking of changing the kernel for Precise 5.5 or "5.4.91 with 3.8-rc7" is an one time thing just for the fun or it?

Even more valuable to the drive for academic fraternity are your ARM/Pi contributions. Now that the type 'A' has been released into Africa and an huge donation of 'B' s has been made to schools, this has to be the arena for, potentially, maximum reward?

Since the vast majority of Puppy users get no benefit from a pae enabled kernel I'm glad to see this..... whatever your reason.
